CM Dr. Mohan Yadav: ‘Bharat Mart’ Will Be the Gateway to Global Trade
Dubai, July 15, 2025 – On the final day of his official visit to Dubai, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held a high-level meeting with senior executives of DP World and Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) to discuss the “Bharat Mart” project — a visionary international trade center designed to connect India’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) directly with global markets.
Dr. Yadav hailed Bharat Mart as a “gateway to global trade,” emphasizing that it will allow Indian exporters, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and handicrafts, to reach customers in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. Scheduled to become operational in 2026, Bharat Mart is expected to become a major driver in realizing India’s ‘Local to Global’ trade mission.
🇮🇳 “Bharat Mart” – A Symbol of Strong India-UAE Trade Ties
Bharat Mart, being developed by DP World inside JAFZA in Dubai, spans over 2.7 million sq. ft. and will house:
- Over 1,500 showrooms
- State-of-the-art warehouses
- High-tech office spaces
Its foundation stone was laid jointly by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Dubai’s Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in February 2024, marking a historic collaboration between India and the UAE.
This facility will act as a global export gateway for Indian MSMEs, especially for those in sectors like textiles, organic produce, processed foods, and traditional Indian crafts.
🚛 Seamless Logistics from Madhya Pradesh to Bharat Mart
In the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the proposed DP World Rail Terminal in Madhya Pradesh, particularly the Ujjain–Nagda route, to ensure seamless, cost-efficient cargo movement to Dubai.
Dr. Yadav stated, “We don’t see this as just trade — it’s a foundation for the economic future of Madhya Pradesh. Bharat Mart will integrate our businesses into global supply chains.”
